RED WINE POACHED PEARS image

Number Of Ingredients 6

4-6 firm pears peeled cored called
1 1/2 cups of dry red wine (zinfandel ,shiraz,merlot)
3/4 cups of granulated sugar
2tbs lemon juice
2 teasp vanilla
2 teasp cinnamon

Steps:

  • combine all ingredients except pears and bring to boil, once wine mixture is boiling turn down to a simmer and add pears. Simmer pears about 10 min on each side until tender Remove pears and boil wine sauce until liquid reduced by half.
