Pie Crust VI image

This pie dough recipe makes 4 single crusts. The shortening, eggs and water are mixed first, and the flour mixed in last.

6 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon salt
3 cups shortening
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vinegar
10 tablespoons cold water
1 tablespoon white sugar

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine shortening, sugar, eggs, salt, vinegar and water. Mix until smooth. Stir in the flour until just combined.
  • Divide dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, flatten, then wrap with plastic and refrigerate.
