Oatmeal Cake Recipe image

Number Of Ingredients 17

Cake:
1 stick butter
1 cup old fash'd oatmeal
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp bkg soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp ground cloves
2 eggs
1-1/3 cup flour
Icing:
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 cup evap milk
3/4 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Cook oatmeal with stick of butter included in 1-1/2 cups of water for 15 to 20 minutes. Mix dry ingredients, stir in 2 eggs and oatmeal. Pour into 9 x 13 greased pan. Bake @ 350° for 30 min. Melt butter for icing. Stir in remainder of ingredients and pour over cake. Broil until icing bubbles.
