Nikki's Savory BST Bread image

We were headed to our friends' home for supper. My hubby had set up for us to bring the bread (I LOVE making bread). But, not having really prepared for it, I just grabbed a conveniently stored box of beer bread mix. And, while I love beer bread, I really love to use it as a base for bouncing other flavors onto the palette. So, I took a tour of the Google, added this flavor, and that one, raided my spice cupboard. . . It. All. Went. The daughter had her boyfriend over, and he made a quiet comment about salt. . . but it didn't stop him from having 3 pieces!!! BST - bacon, salt, tomato

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 package(s) beer bread mix
12 ounce(s) ale
1/2 cup(s) sun-dried tomatoes, julienned
1/2 cup(s) cooked, crumbled bacon
2 tablespoon(s) italian parmesan blend
4 tablespoon(s) butter
robust rib-eye (for topping)

Steps:

  • Combine bread mix and ale, just until moistened. Add tomatoes, bacon, and Italian Parmesan blend. Mix, but don't over mix.
  • Spray a loaf pan. Place bread dough in, smoothing the top but not smashing down. Pour melted butter on top. Sprinkle with robust rib-eye blend - more than a thin layer, but not a full-packed layer.
  • Bake at 350°F for 55 minutes.
