This recipe was personally prepared by Deb Berman for the July 2015 meeting of the Curious Cuisiners meeting. It is still good in the refrigerator for a couple of days. If longer, you can freeze. Let thaw in the refrigerator.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 package(s) devils food cake mix
1 cup(s) sugar
40 large marshmallows(10 oz pkg)
1 cup(s) milk
1 package(s) (14 oz) coconut
ICING
1/4 cup(s) milk
3/4 cup(s) sugar
1/4 cup(s) butter
6 ounce(s) pkg chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Prepare cake mix as directed on package and bake.
  • While the cake is in the oven, mix together in saucepan and cook on low (make sure you continuously stir, it burns easily) the sugar, marshmallows, and milk, bring to a boil.
  • Remove from the heat and add the coconut. Pour this mixture over the cake as soon as it comes out of the oven. Cool.
  • Icing: In a saucepan on medium heat mix the milk, sugar. and butter, bring this to a boil.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the chocolate chips. Top cake with this mixture. Refrigerate overnight.
