Number Of Ingredients 12

1 or 2 whole Unbaked Pie Crust (enough For A Deep Dish Pan)
See below as this recipe makes for 2 pies but I only make one******
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 pound bacon
1/2 roll jimmy dean HOT sausage
4-6 slices of ham
8 large eggs
1 - 1/2 cup half and half
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Bake pie crust in a 400* preheated oven for 10 minutes. Then set aside until later. Chopped and sauté the onions and green bell pepper for about 10 minutes. You want them nice a tender and caramelized. Chop the bacon and fry until crispy. Drain and set aside. Cook the sausage. Drain and set aside. Slice up the ham. Whip the eggs, cream, salt and pepper in a large bowl, then mix in the onions, bell peppers, bacon, ham, sausage and cheese. Pour the mixture into the pie crust. ********At this point you can make 2 quiche or do like I do and that is use half the egg mixture for 1 quiche and the other I cook up for another day and use for breakfast burritos :)*********** Place the pan on a baking sheet or a piece of aluminum foil, cover lightly with aluminum foil, and bake it for about 40 to 45 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the crust is golden brown. (The quiche will still seem slightly loose, but will continue to set once remove from the oven.) Remove from the oven and allow to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Serve alone or with a side of grits :)
