Meatloaf image

You can substitute pork, turkey any type of ground meat. be creative, this came about due to cheezits and chicken in a biscuit crackers being the only "filler" available. sometime we use a few strips of bacon on top

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 lb ground beef (not too lean or it gets dry. we use 85/15 or 80/20)
1/2 c cheezit cheddar jack crackers
1/4 c chicken in a biscuit crackers
2 can(s) tomato soup
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 c ketchup
1-2 eggs
1 pinch salt and pepper, and garlic powder
OPTIONAL
1/2 tsp flora's balsamic glaze

Steps:

  • 1. preheat over to 375° see below for alternate baking directions for using smoker
  • 2. smash crackers to fine consistency and combine with meat, eggs and Worcestershire sauce. Add a pinch of salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  • 3. form the meat mixture into the shape of a loaf in a pam coated 9 x 13 baking dish. bake uncovered for 30 minutes alternate for smoked version, preheat smoker to 175°. I smoke for 90 minutes then follow then complete rest of steps cooking in your smoker (traeger, pitboss, weber or etc.)
  • 4. Remove from oven, add 2 cans of tomato soup to baking dish and cover top of meatloaf with ketchup. return to oven and 30 to 90 minutes @ 385°
