Layered Taco Dip image

I make this for practically every party I'm invited to. It's the best version of a layered taco dip I've tasted. I've been making this for several years and finally have gotten the recipe exactly where I want it.

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pkg pork sausage roll
1 can(s) black beans, drained well
1 can(s) diced tomatoes with chilies or jalapenos, drained well
3-4 medium avocados
16 oz sour cream
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
lettuce (bagged shredded works great!)
2 c cheddar cheese, shredded
1 can(s) black olives, sliced
juice from 4 limes
tortilla chips

Steps:

  • 1. Cook the sausage thoroughly; break up into small pieces while it's cooking. Sausage should be in small crumbles when finished cooking.
  • 2. In a bowl mix the Taco Seasoning packet with the Sour Cream; blend well. In another bowl, mash the avocados and mix with the Lime Juice. Drain the can of black beans and tomatoes, separately. I use two strainers and let sit over the sink while the sausage is cooking.
  • 3. Place ingredients in this order: Cooked sausage Black beans Avocado mixture Sour Cream mixture Lettuce Tomato Cheese Olives
