Kona Coffee and Cream Shave Ice image

Hawaiian shave ice is a crushed ice and syrup dessert served in paper cones. It is sold by seaside vendors whose trucks and storefronts are emblazoned with images of the syrupy sweet cones painted in neon rainbow colors. This one is a sophisticated version which features a Kona coffee base and is designed for adult after-dinner fare. The Kona Coast, on the island of Hawaii, is the home of the Kona coffee plantations - the only plantations in Hawaii or the United States where coffee is commercially grown.
