Love the Iced Capps at Tim Horton's? This is my homemade version. Great for GERD sufferers. Will wash away heartburn and ease esophageal spasms. It's also great for Diabetics and for dieters.

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 c milk - any type - 2%, whole, 1% or skim, white or chocolate (tim horton's uses coffee cream)
1 c water - more economical but you can use 3 c of milk if you prefer
1/2 c splenda or white sugar (or use 1/4 c white sugar/ 1/4 c splenda)
1 Tbsp instant coffee (regular or decaf)
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
2 c ice (adjust to get the thickness you like)

Steps:

  • 1. In a 5 cup Blender Jar - pour milk and water then add coffee, vanilla and sweetener/sugar
  • 2. Add enough ice cubes to bring liquid level up to the 5 cup mark (approx 16 -20). If you want a thicker drink use more ice. Blend on high speed 10-20 seconds (depending on blender's power) to finely crush the ice.
  • 3. Pour, or spoon, into glasses and serve immediately. I use plastic glasses and freeze extras for later use. I have found it best to drink with a straw when I'm suffering heartburn and to eat it with a spoon when I'm having esophageal spasms. Once frozen, you can remove from the freezer and microwave on High for 30 seconds to 1 minute and enjoy.
  • 4. IMPORTANT NOTE: Splenda is not calorie free! It contains carbohydrate fillers to give it volume so Diabetics beware. It is made with sugar modified so your body thinks it is chlorine. Search Google for more information.
