Honey Pie image

A delicious recipe dating back to the 1920s. It is so great to have a recipe make it from generation to generation! NOTE THE PIE PICTURED HAS A THIN MERINGUE TOPPING. I am not one for meringue.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 c toasted slivered almonds
1 c sugar
3/4 c honey
3 eggs slightly beating
1/4 c butter, melted
2 Tbsp heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
1/4 tsp salt
9 inch unbaked pie shell

Steps:

  • 1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 375
  • 2. Blend all ingredients except crust in a mixing bowl. pour into pie shell. Bake 40 to 50 minutes, until crust is set and filling is golden. Let cool at least 2 hours before cutting.
