Homemade Apple Fritters image

I love apple fritters. You can make peach, cherry, blueberry, blackberry, cranberry, or pineapple. It is so easy and simple to make them. They are so delicious and sweet. Yummy!!!!

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 eggs
2 c self-rising flour
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c apple cider
1/2 c milk
2 Tbsp butter, melted
2 1/2 c tart apples; peeled, cored and diced in small chunks (i used granny smith)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat deep fryer or vegetable oil in large frying pan to 350 degrees. If using a frying pan, make the oil about 1 1/2 inches deep.
  • 2. Combine self-rising flour, sugar, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract apple cider, milk and melted butter in a large bowl. Whisk well.
  • 3. Peel, core, and chop the apples.
  • 4. Add apples and fold in.
  • 5. Spoon batter by the teaspoon in hot oil.
  • 6. Cook over medium heat, turning once.
  • 7. Fritters only take about 1 minute per side to cook.
  • 8. Remove from oil when done and drain on clean kitchen towel or paper towel. Dust powdered sugar on fritters and serve warm.
