Hash Brown Casserole (Slow cooker) image

Creamy, cheesy potato side dish. Great with pork or chicken. You can use cream of mushroom, or cream of celery soup instead of chicken. For a variation, stir in some chopped chives or cooked bacon pieces.

1 bag(s) (32 oz) frozen hash browns, thawed
8 ounce(s) sour cream
1 can(s) (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1/4 cup(s) chopped onion
2 cup(s) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup(s) melted butter
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Coat the liner of a 4-quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, mix all ingredients and combine well. Pour into prepared slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 4-5 hours.
  • Casserole will form a crusty sides and creamy center.
