Grilled Meatloaf Burgers image

I had found a meatloaf recipe that my family really likes on another recipe site. One day when I was short on time I decided to mix it, make patties and cook them on my George Forman grill. I modified the recipe when doing this and now this is a HUGE favorite. My mom loves it and will have seconds and she never has seconds.

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 pound(s) hamburger meat
1 medium onion, diced
1/2 cup(s) breadcrumbs, plain
1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1 teaspoon(s) pepper
1 can(s) tomato paste
3 teaspoon(s) dry mustard
1/4 cup(s) worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar (splenda blend)
2 tablespoon(s) vinegar

Steps:

  • Put the hamburger meat in a bowl and add each ingredient in order as listed stirring well after each addition making sure all ingredients are incorporated well. Form into patties and cook for about 5 - 7 minutes on a George Forman grill. Can be cooked in a skillet on top of the stove. Depending on the fat content of your meat you may need a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil for frying the patties. I always use the leanest hamburger I can find or ground sirloin. If using a George Forman there is very little fat that runs off. You can adjust the seasonings to your preference. I have also used a small can of tomato sauce when I didn't have tomato paste in the pantry. I had to add a little more breadcrumbs when doing this.
