GREEN BEAN WITH SLIVERED ALMONDS image

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 pkg. (9 oz) frozen French style green beans or 6 C. fresh beans (Cut 1" pieces)
4 T. butter
3 C. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 sweet onion, sliced & chopped (or red)
2 tsp. fresh thyme, minced (or 3/4 tsp. dried)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. dried rosemary
1/4 tsp. dried basil
Toasted slivered almonds

Steps:

  • If frozen cook green beans according to pkg. directions. Fresh beans, cut into 1" pieces and place beans in a sauce pan and cover with water; bring to a boil. Cook uncovered for 8-10 min. or until crisp tender; drain and set aside. In a large fry pan, saute mushroom in 1 T. butter. Set aside. In same skillet, saute onions and nuts. Add mushrooms and keep warm. Combine butter and spices; drizzle over bean mixture and toss to coat. Place beans in skillet. Sprinkle with onions, mushrooms and almonds.
