2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar
2 squares unsweetened baking chocolate squares
2 cups milk
3 egg yolks, save white for meringue
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon shortening or butter

Steps:

Mix dry ingredients good. Add milk and chocolate, cooking 1/2 minute, stirring constantly. Add 1/2 cup mixture to beaten egg yolks to temper. Then add to chocolate mixture. Cook until real thick. Add vanilla and butter. Pour into baked pie shell and top with meringue.
