Ginger Beef and green beans image

This quick and easy meal can be prepared and on the table in under half an hour. We love it as is but also have served it over cooked rice. The tender crisp green beans bring great texture to the beef. I often use the shredded beef sold in the meat department for even faster prep.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pound(s) skirt steak or shredded beef
3 tablespoon(s) corn starch
1 tablespoon(s) cooking oil
1 pound(s) green beans with ends trimmed
3 clove(s) garlic, minced
3 tablespoon(s) grated ginger (approx 3 inch piece)
1/4 cup(s) soy sauce
1 tablespoon(s) rice wine vinegar
3 tablespoon(s) sugar
2 green onions
1/4 cup(s) slivered almonds

Steps:

  • If using Skirt steak, slice into 1/4" strips. Pat beef dry. Place in a mixing bowland toss with salt, pepper and cornstarch. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet, medium high heat, add green bean and drizzle 1 tsp of oil. Cooke one minute. Add 2 T water and cover with a lid. Steam for 2.minutes then rove from pan and drain any remaining water. Set aside.
  • Return skillet to high heat, add oil. When oil is hot add beer and stir fry until almost cooked through. Reduce to meduim heat. Add ginger, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar and sugar. Stir beef to coat. Add back green beans and toss again. Top with chopped green onions and almonds.
  • Serve and enjoy. May he served over rice.
