German Apple Bread image

Number Of Ingredients 15

Bread Ingredients
l/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
2 Tbsp sour milk
2 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups peeled and chopped apples
Topping Ingredients
2 Tbsp butter (cold)
2 Tbsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine and mix all bread ingredients in large bowl. Mixture will be thick - pour into greased, 9x5 bread loaf pan.
  • Mix topping ingredients in small bowl and mix well until it has a crumbly texture. Sprinkle topping on bread.
  • Bake approximately l hour - until toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm.
