FRESH ORANGE LEMONADE image

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 1/2 cups water
1 cup sugar (or less)
2 tablespoons orange zest
2 tablespoons lemon zest
1 1/2 cups fresh orange juice, about 5 oranges
1 1/2 cups lemon juice, about 8 lemons
Water
Ice Cubes
Citrus slices, optional

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, stirring occcasionally. Remove from the heat and cool. Add the orange and lemon zests and juices to the sugar mixture. Cover and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour. Cover and refrigerate until serving time. To serve, fill glasses with equal parts fruit mixture and water. Add ice and serve. If you like, garnish the lemonade with citrus slices.
