I'm originally from Edmonton, Alberta Canada and was raised by my grandparents who are of British ancestry, this recipe has been passed down for generations. You may substitute raisins for the currants.

2 c all purpose flour
4 Tbsp baking powder
1/4 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 c butter
1/2 c raisins or currants
1 egg
2/3 c milk

Steps:

  • 1. Mix ingredients together to form a dough, roll out dough to a 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out with a large cookie cutter or in any shape you wish...my mom always cuts hers in triangles.
