Empanadas image

When I make these I make plenty. They freeze well. If there are any left. If you have trouble finding the shells Goya makes them. They come 10 to a package. Or make your own I have a recipe for them

Number Of Ingredients 11

40 - shells
3 large chopped onions
2 large chopped green peppers
1 large chopped red bell peppers
1 - salt and pepper to taste
tablespoon(s) cumin or more to taste
1 tablespoon(s) paprika or to taste
- basil to taste
1 small 8 once pitted green olives with pimento
3 - hard boiled eggs chopped
2 pound(s) ground beef cooked and drained.

Steps:

  • Fry the onions and the peppers in oil until just crisp, then add the meat, salt and pepper.Add the cumin, paprika, and the basil. When the beef is cooked and cooled, add the chopped eggs, and the chopped olives.mix well. place a little on each empanada shell and wrap the shell around them. Place them in a deep fryer at 350 degreese and cook until the shell are light golden brown.
