My mother got this recipe from her friend, Ella, many years ago when I was a child. We have always used this recipe for a pecan pie that is just right and not overly sweet. You'll want seconds!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light.
- Add eggs, then flour, salt, vanilla, corn syrup, and pecans. Mix well by hand.
- Pour into pie shell and bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees F. Then reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake for 30 minutes. Cool completely before serving.
