Edible Clear Glue image

Royal Icing is a good glue but sometimes in decorating we need a clear glue. Keeping this warm while you are attaching the pieces to be glued is the key. After a few practices, you will know exactly how warm to keep the glue. Just make small amounts at a time. It's so simple.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 cup(s) white granulated sugar
1/2 cup(s) water
NOT FOR CHILDREN TO BE MAKING,
BE CAUTIOUS WITH HOT GLUE.

Steps:

  • 1) Mix the water and sugar together in a very small heavy bottom saucepan.
  • 2) Heat over med/low heat until it begins to thicken and it starts to have a golden shade to it. Take it off the heat, but keep it warm. One way to do this is by placing the small saucepan in a larger pan of hot water.
  • 3) Then dip your edges in it and they will stick.
  • You can also use this for "glass" windows, and chimney smoke. Pour it out onto waxed paper to the size you want. Let your imagination go wild. Good luck.
