Easy Manhattan Clam Chowder image

No chopping and dicing needed. If you prefer a creamier texture, stir in 1/3 cup heavy cream at end.

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 Tbsp real bacon bits
1/2 c frozen diced onions
1 can(s) (15 oz) diced carrots, drained
1 tsp garlic powder
1 bottle (8 oz) clam juice
1 can(s) (15 oz) tomato puree
1 c water
salt and pepper to taste
1 can(s) (15 oz) sliced white potatoes
1 can(s) (10 oz) baby clams, with juice
pinch red pepper flakes, optional

Steps:

  • 1. Add first 7 ingredients to soup pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover; simmer 10 minutes.
  • 2. Add remaining ingredients and simmer another 10 minutes.
  • 3. Serve.
