Number Of Ingredients 3

Cook slightly in saucepan: i cup water, 1 t soda, 1 package (7oz) pitted dates. Let cool.
Cream: 1 c shortening, 1 c sugar; Beat in 2 eggs
Mix together 1 3/4 c flour, 1/2 t salt, 2 t dark dry cocoa powder. Add to creamed mixture. Add dates, 1/2 cup walnuts, 1/2 package chocolate chips.

Steps:

  • Pour into cake pan, sprinkle with rest of chocolate chips. Bake 350° for 30-40 minutes.
