Dad's Cookies image

My Dad passed away from cancer when I was 12. About 2 years ago, my Mom found all her old recipes and I went through them all. I found this recipe in my Dad's own handwriting. Last Christmas I made them for my family and also people at work. Everybody just loved them. Here's to you Dad!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 cup(s) butter, softened
3/4 cup(s) sugar
1 - egg
1 1/2 cup(s) flour
3/4 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1 pinch(es) salt
1/3 cup(s) molasses
1 cup(s) nuts, chopped (any kind)

Steps:

  • Cream butter w/sugar and beat in egg
  • Mix flour, baking soda and salt
  • Add molasses, chopped nuts, and flour mixture to wet ingredients (butter, sugar, egg)
  • Mix well and drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet
  • Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes
