Cider Beef Stew image

Number Of Ingredients 13

3 Tbsp flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 lb beef stew meat, cubed
2 Tbsp oil
1 c apple cider
1/2 c water
1 Tbsp vinegar
1/2 tsp thyme
2 large carrots, cut in 1
1 celery rib, chopped
1 large potato, cubed and peeled
1 medium onion, sliced

Steps:

  • 1. Mix flour, salt, and pepper and add beef and toss to coat.
  • 2. In a large saucepan, brown beef in oil.
  • 3. Add cider, water, vinegar and thyme; bring to a boil.
  • 4. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until the meat is tender.
  • 5. Add carrots, celery, potato and onion; return to a boil.
  • 6. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
