Chocolate Crackled Cookies image

Found this on the McCormick recipe site. Did a couple of modifications. This has now become a favorite.

Number Of Ingredients 12

8 ounce(s) semi-sweet baking chocolate
3/4 cup(s) flour
2 teaspoon(s) saigon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoon(s) ancho chili pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
1/4 cup(s) butter, softened
1/2 cup(s) sugar
1/4 cup(s) brown sugar, firmly packed
2 - eggs, slightly beaten
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
4 ounce(s) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375F. Melt the baking chocolate as directed on package. Set aside.
  • Mix flour, cinnamon, ancho chile pepper powder, baking powder and salt in small bowl. Set aside.
  • Beat butter and sugars in large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Add melted chocolate; beat until well blended. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until well mixed. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Drop dough by rounded tablespoon or medium cookie scoop 1-1/2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake about 10 minutes or just until cookies are set and slightly cracked on top. Cool on wire rack completely. Enjoy!
