Chocolate Cornbread image

It may seem like an odd combo, but somehow it works. Kudos to Lillian Russo for this recipe and photo. Thanks, Lillian :)

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 9

2/3 c cocoa powder
2/3 c all purpose flour
2/3 c fine cornmeal
2/3 c sugar
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 large egg
1/3 c corn oil
1 c milk

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all dry ingredients together.
  • 2. Mix all wet ingredients together.
  • 3. Combine both til mixed well.
  • 4. Pour into a greased 8x8 inch baking dish.
  • 5. Bake at 400 degrees for about 25-35 minutes or til center of bread springs back when light pressed.
