Chocolate Chunk Pumpkin Cake image

A basic chocolate cake mixed with pumpkin and topped with a maple glaze makes a great fall dessert.

see savings 1/2 teaspoon salt
see savings 6 ounces bittersweet or semisweet baking chocolate, chopped into chunks (1 1/2 cups)
see savings 1 1 1/2 pound pie pumpkin, shredded* or one 15-oz. can pumpkin
see savings 3/4 cup butter, melted
see savings 6 eggs, slightly beaten

see savings Molasses Whipped Cream (below)

see savings 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
see savings 1/4 cup dark-color corn syrup
see savings 2 tablespoons molasses
see savings 1 cup whipping cream
see savings 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. With the nonstick spray for baking, generously coat a 10-inch square tube pan without removable bottom or a 10-inch fluted tube pan. Set aside.
