Chocolate Chip Cookies image

I think this recipe was on the 12 oz. BAKER'S Chocolate Flavored Chips package. In any event, I have used this recipe for probably 40 years, and the cookies never fail. Photo: http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/18476/original-nestlÉ-toll-house-chocolate-chip-cookies/detail.aspx

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 c softened butter or solid crisco
3/4 c brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 c granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp water
2 eggs
2 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 c chopped pecans
1 pkg chocolate chips (12 oz.)

Steps:

  • 1. Beat butter (Crisco), sugars, vanilla, water, and eggs until light and fluffy.
  • 2. Mix flour with soda and salt; blend into butter mixture. Stir in nuts and chips.
  • 3. Drop 2 inches apart from teaspoon onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 8 dozen cookies.
  • 4. I don't think you can find an easier or more delicious chocolate chip cookie.
