CHICKEN PAPRIKASH & SPAETZLE image

1 Medium Onion (chopped fine)
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp paprika
1 tsp black pepper
2 Tbsp butter
2 cups chicken broth
2 cups chicken (diced)
1 Bay leaf
2 Tbsp flour
1/2 pt sour cream
milk
Spaetzle
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
pepper to taste
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • - Warm Chicken broth - Simmer onions in butter until soft - Mix salt, pepper & paprika & sprinkle on top of onions - Add chicken and cook for 10 minutes - Add warmed Chicken broth - Add Bay leaf - Cover & simmer until tender - Mix flour & sour cream and put in fridge - Then add enough milk so it looks like pancake batter ( pourable) - Add to chicken and simmer to thicken Make Spaetzle - Bring 4 cups of water/ broth to a boil - Beat eggs, salt & water - Add enough flour to resemble thick pancake batter - Drop batter a tsp at a time into boiling water/broth for 10 minutes, strain, rinse with water and add to chicken - Can also use a colander to put batter through with wooden spoon to make spaetzle
