Cherry-Almond Pie image

My grandson's favorite pie. Very easy and the almond give a bit of a twist to the standard cherry pie.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 package(s) refrigerated pie crust
2 can(s) cherry pie filling
1 teaspoon(s) almond extract
1/4 cup(s) slivered almonds

Steps:

  • Prepare bottom crust using package directions.
  • Pour both cans of pie filling in large bowl.
  • Add almond extract and almonds, stir to blend.
  • Prepare top pie crust in any way you wish. (Lattice or decorative vents)
  • Pour filling mixture into bottom crust.
  • Place top crust as desired and flute edges.
  • Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Tip: Bake on center rack - place an empty cookie sheet on the bottom rack to catch any filling that bubbles over.
