Canned Green Beans image

My kids love veggies, so when fresh isn't available I get creative with the cans! This is an out of the can recipe but it just tastes so darn good I had to share!

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 slice(s) turkey bacon, diced and cooked
1 can(s) family size green beans, any cut, not drained
1 can(s) sliced potatoes, not drained
1 tablespoon(s) chives, fresh or dried
1 teaspoon(s) dill, fresh or dried
1/2 teaspoon(s) garlic salt
1/2 cup(s) coarse ground bread crumbs, i prefer ritz

Steps:

  • Cook bacon to crisp. Meanwhile combine green beans and potatoes in pan and cook until steamy. Add all herbs and bacon when done cooking.
  • Combine and cover, simmering for about 10 minutes to let flavors set. Serve with slotted spoon and top with crumbs.
  • When I make this for my family I only do the above steps, however I have made this as a potluck dish, only with fresh green beans, and the following added during the simmering process: 1/2 cup finely sliced tomatoes 1/2 cup diced white onion Its great both ways!
