WHEATENA CHIP COOKIES RECIPE

Number Of Ingredients 10

3/4 cup wheatena
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup butter
1 large egg
1 tsp baking soda
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chip
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Steps:

  • 375 - 10-12 mins Cream butter and sugars till light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, beat till fluffy. Combine dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture. Add chips and nuts. Drop rounded on ungreased cookie sheet. Yields 5 dozen

Mom got this recipe off of the Wheatena box "way back when." You can still find Wheatena in some stores. But may be hard to find. Good Luck.

1 cup(s) shortening (mom says butter or margarine works well too)
1 cup(s) sugar
1 - egg
2 tablespoon(s) milk
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup(s) all purpose flour
2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2 cup(s) uncooked wheatena

Steps:

  • Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg (beaten well), milk, and vanilla.
  • Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Add Wheatena. Mix.
  • Combine the two mixtures.
  • Drop by the spoonful onto your cookie sheet (I use aluminum foil). Bake at 375 degrees for 13-15 minutes.
