Furikake Popcorn with Wasabi Peas image

Popcorn blends beautifully with wasabi-coated green peas and a few dashes of nori komi furikake. It is also great if you add some Japanese rice crackers!

1 (2.9 ounce) bag butter-flavored microwave popcorn
3 tablespoons nori komi furikake (prepared Asian sesame seed and seaweed blend)
½ cup wasabi peas

Steps:

  • Place packaged popcorn in the microwave; cook on high until popping begins to slow down, about 2 1/2 minutes.
  • Open popcorn bag and pour in nori komi furikake. Hold bag closed and shake lightly a few times. Open bag and add wasabi peas. Hold bag closed again and shake lightly a few times. Pour into a large bowl and serve.

3 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons prepared wasabi
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional)

Steps:

  • Place popcorn in a large bowl.
  • Microwave butter 20 seconds or until melted; stir in wasabi until well blended.
  • Drizzle wasabi butter over popcorn and stir to distribute.
  • Sprinkle with salt and sugar, if desired, and stir again.
