No need for syrup here. These grilled-cheese waffles sandwich a savory combination of peppers and bacon.

2 cups complete pancake and waffle mix
6 KRAFT Singles
6 slices cooked OSCAR MAYER Bacon
1 green pepper, cut into thin strips
1/4 cup fresh cilantro
2 plum tomato es, thinly sliced
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened

Steps:

  • Prepare waffle batter and use to prepare 12 waffles as directed on package.
  • Heat large skillet on medium heat. Meanwhile, fill waffles with all remaining ingredients except butter to make 6 sandwiches. Spread outsides of sandwiches with butter.
  • Add sandwiches, in batches, to skillet; cook 3 min. on each side or until Singles are melted and sandwiches are golden brown on both sides.

Kids love these! Great to serve the morning after a slumber party or on a lazy Sunday morning. Takes no time to put together!

6 frozen waffles
4 tablespoons strawberry jam
2 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced

Steps:

  • Prepare waffles in toaster according to package directions.
  • In a small bowl, combine jam, cream cheese and crumbled bacon.
  • Spread one side of a waffle with cream cheese mixture; top with some of the sliced strawberries and another waffle to make a sandwich.
  • Serve immediately.
  • Note: You can adapt this recipe to suit any of your child needs. For a slumber party, make a batch using mini waffles. You can substitute kiwi, banana, etc for the strawberries. Maybe drizzle a little chocolate syrup before sandwiching -- Be creative and have fun!
