CRANBERRY-CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE MIX
I created this recipe when I didn't have enough ingredients for another cookie recipe. I use this recipe on numerous occasions for teacher gifts and Christmas.-Shelley Friesen, Leduc, Alberta

Steps:
- In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. In a 1-qt. glass container, layer flour mixture, brown sugar, 1/2 cup chocolate chips, cranberries, walnuts, oats and remaining chips. Cover and store in a cool, dry place up to 6 months. Yield: 1 batch (about 4 cups total)., To prepare cookies: Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, beat butter, egg and vanilla until blended. Add cookie mix and mix well. , Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks.

- 1. Layer ingredients in jar in order given. Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient. Recipe to attach to jar:
- 2. Tropical Cookies in a jar Empty cookie mix in large mixing bowl; stir to combine. Add 3/4 cup softened butter, 2 eggs slightly beaten and 1 tsp. vanilla; mix until completely blended. Roll dough into walnut-sized balls. Place 2 inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Cooking Instructions: Press cookie down slightly with the heel of your hand. Bake at 350? for 11 to 13 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to wire racks to cool completely. Yield: 2-1/2 dozen.
