1/3 cup fresh basil leaf
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
6 slices crusty bread, toasted,1/2 to 3/4 inch thick

Steps:

  • Mix first 7 ingredients in bowl.
  • Season to taste.
  • Cut toasted bread in half.
  • Spoon tomato mixture on top of bread and serve.

6 1/2-3/4" thick slices of toasted, crusty bread

Steps:

  • Mix 1st 7 ingredients in bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Can be prepared 2 hours ahead. Let stand at room temperature. Spoon atop bread and serve.
