Cheeseburger Casserole with Tater Tots® image

This cheeseburger casserole was my favorite dish my mom made while I was growing up, and now it is my husband's favorite. With crisp Tater Tots® and ooey-gooey Cheddar cheese, how can you go wrong?

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 large onion, chopped into 1-inch pieces
butter-flavored cooking spray (such as Pam®)
2 pounds ground beef
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed golden mushroom soup (such as Campbell's®)
3 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 (32 ounce) package frozen bite-size potato nuggets (such as Tater Tots®)

Steps:

  • Place onion in a microwave-safe bowl and cover with water. Microwave on High until soft, 7 to 8 minutes. Drain.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
  • Cook and stir ground beef in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease.
  • Transfer beef to the prepared casserole dish and spread onion pieces evenly over top. Spread soup over the onions and sprinkle Cheddar cheese evenly over soup. Layer frozen potato nuggets in rows on top of the cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Lightly spray the potato nuggets with cooking spray, and bake until cooked through and crunchy, about 10 minutes more.

1 lb dry medium shell pasta
2 lb ground beef
1 large vidalia sweet onion,peeled and diced
2 banana peppers,chopped
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp steak seasoning
2 tsp crushed red pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
2 c tiger sauce,divided
1 c heavy cream
2 Tbsp honey mustard
1 pkg (4 ounces) cream cheese,softened
1 lb cooked bacon,cut into pieces
2 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese,divided

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • 2. Cook shell pasta in a large pot of salted water according to package directions.Drain.
  • 3. Heat ground beef in a large saucepan over medium heat.Stir in diced vidalia sweet onion,chopped banana peppers and worcestershire sauce and cook for 7 minutes or until no longer pink.Drain and discard the fat.
  • 4. Return to saucepan,add steak seasoning,crushed red pepper flakes,garlic powder and 1 cup tiger sauce;stir well,simmer for 5 minutes.Remove from heat.
  • 5. In a medium bowl,combine heavy cream,honey mustard,cream cheese,cooked bacon pieces,1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese and remaining tiger sauce;whisk together until blended.
  • 6. Add cooked shell pasta and bacon cheese sauce mixture into beef mixture;stir well until combined.
  • 7. Transfer into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.Sprinkle with remaining shredded sharp cheddar cheese.Bake for 30 minutes.Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cups water
2/3 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cups uncooked instant rice
2 slices cheddar cheese, cut into 1-inch strips

Steps:

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the beef and onion; drain. Add water, ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper; mix well. Bring to a boil. Stir in rice. Cover and remove from the heat; let stand for 5 minutes. Top with cheese; cover and let stand for 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

½ pound ground beef
2 medium (2-1/2" dia)s onions, chopped
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes with herbs, undrained
2 cups elbow macaroni
1 cup frozen corn
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 pinch ground black pepper to taste
2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Generously grease an 8-cup baking dish. Place baking dish on a cookie sheet.
  • Heat a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef and onions until beef is browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain off fat.
  • Drain liquid from canned tomatoes into a 4-cup measuring cup, adding water if needed, to make 2 1/2 cups of liquid. Add juice, tomatoes, macaroni, corn, bell pepper, garlic, soy sauce, chili powder, Italian seasoning, and pepper to the beef mixture; bring to a boil.
  • Pour 1/2 of the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup of Mexican cheese, add remainder of beef mixture, and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • Bake, covered, in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake for another 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
