Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup raw honey
2 Tsp vanilla extract
4 Tbsp arrowroot powder
4 Tbsp coconut flour
4 Tbsp coconut oil, melted
1/4 tsp sea salt

Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine everything except the coconut oil.
  • Blend with a hand mixer until well combined.
  • Drizzle coconut oil in slowly while mixing on high.
  • Mix until whipped together.
  • Frost cake immediately or store in the fridge (if you store in the fridge, re-whip before using).
  • If you want to pipe this frosting, put it into the fridge until firm, and then use a cake decorator and pipe the frosting into beautiful designs. It's best to take it out of the fridge and let sit at room temperature for a few minutes before piping.

1 cup milk
5 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar (not Powdered Sugar!)

Steps:

  • Bake your favorite chocolate cake (or whatever you want to frost!) and let it cool.
  • In a small saucepan, whisk flour into milk and heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature. (If I'm in a hurry, I place the saucepan over ice in the sink for about 10 minutes or so until the mixture cools.) Stir in vanilla.
  • While the mixture is cooling, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Then add the cooled milk/flour/vanilla mixture and beat until it all combines and resembles whipped cream.
  • Grab a spoon and taste this wonderful goodness. If there is any left after your taste test, spread it on a cooled chocolate cake. Cut yourself a piece and put it on a pretty plate.
