Neiman Marcus Bars are the easiest indulgent treat! These addicting bars are a mix between a blondie bar and cheesecake square but gooey and have a shiny crispy top like a brownie. This is the perfect dessert for sharing with family and friends!

1 18.25 ounce package yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter (melted)
4 large eggs (divided)
8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F if using a dark pan). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  • Using an electric mixer, combine the cake mix, 2 eggs, and melted butter. The batter will be thick. Spread into the bottom of the greased pan with a rubber spatula.
  • Reuse the bowl (no need to clean) to combine the cream cheese, 2 eggs, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Pour over the top of the cake batter.
  • Bake for 35 minutes. Allow to cool completely and then slice and serve.

This is quick and easy, they are very rich, as their name, but delicious. A family and friend favorite.

CRUST:
1 box yellow cake mix
1 large egg
1 c nuts, chopped
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c **butter, softened
FILLING:
1 box (16oz.) powdered sugar
1 pkg (8oz.) cream cheese, softened
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract

Steps:

  • 1. For the crust: mix together all the crust ingredients listed. Press evenly into a 9x13 baking dish. For the filling: mix together all the ingredients listed. Spread evenly over the crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. The top should be light brown. Be careful to not OVERBAKE. Cool completely, then cut into bars. **Use only butter! It will not come out right if you use margarine.

2 eggs
1 (8 ounce) box cream cheese
1 (32 ounce) box powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter

Steps:

  • Mix Yellow cake mix, 1 egg, and stick of butter in bowl.
  • Spread evenly in 13 x 9 cake pan.
  • Mix 1 egg, box of powdered sugar, and box of cream cheese in bowl.
  • Pour over and spread evenly over cake in pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cut into bars and serve.
  • Best served warm.

These are sinfully rich and always a hit at potlucks. The person I got the recipe from said they are called Neiman Marcus bars because the ingredients are expensive (I think she was talking about the 2 cups of pecans).

1 -18 ounce butter pecan cake mix
1 egg
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup pecans
1 lb powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup pecans

Steps:

  • Mix crust ingredients and press into 9x13" cake pan.
  • With mixer mix powdered sugar, butter and cream cheese until combined.
  • Fold pecans into filling mixture.
  • Pour filling over crust.
  • Bake 1 hr to 1 hr 15 min at 300 degrees.
  • Let bars cool and cut into squares.

FIRST LAYER:
1 box(es) yellow cake mix
1 stick(s) butter, melted
2 - eggs
SECOND LAYER:
16 ounce(s) powdered sugar
8 ounce(s) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup(s) coconut
2 - eggs
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1/2 cup(s) chopped pecans
- enough powdered sugar to sprinkle over top

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Mix together first layer and put in 9 x 13 greased & floured pan.
  • Mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, coconut, eggs and vanilla together and spread over first mixture. Bake 10 minutes then sprinkle pecans on top and bake 30 additional minutes.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle powdered sugar over top while still warm.
  • VARIATION: use 1 box of butter fudge cake mix rather than yellow if you prefer.
