Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 24

4 chicken breast halves
1/2 cup pickle juice
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
oil for frying
4 hamburger buns
Pickle, lettuce, tomato and cheese slices (, for topping)
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 Tablespoons powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1-2 teaspoons cayenne pepper (*optional, for a spicy chicken sandwich)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
3 teaspoons yellow mustard
2 teaspoon barbecue sauce ((hickory tastes the best))
2 Tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • Marinate the chicken: combine the pickle juice and water in a ziplock bag. Add the chicken breast halves and marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Make the sauce: Make the Chick-fil-A sauce by combining all ingredients in a bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  • Next, in a large bowl mix the breading ingredients together: flour, powdered sugar, paprika, black pepper, chili powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • In another bowl mix the milk, and egg.
  • Add 2-3 cups of oil to a large saucepan and heat oil to about 350 degrees F.
  • Coat the chicken: Dip the marinated chicken into the egg mixture, and then coat in the flour breading mixture. Now "double-dip" by repeating this step and dipping that same chicken tender back into the egg mixture and then back into the flour again!
  • Pan fry: Place chicken in hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove to paper towel to dry.
  • Assemble Sandwich: Toast the sandwich buns. Grab the Chick-fil-A sauce and smooth it on both sides of the buns. Top with lettuce, cheese, and crispy chicken! Enjoy!

Yield 4 sandwiches, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 16

1/2 cup pickle juice
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon paprika

4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
2 tablespoons butter, melted
8 pickle chips from 1 jar of pickle chips (16oz)

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl whisk together wet ingredients, add chicken, making sure to coat evenly. Allow chicken to marinate for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, in a medium sized pot, over medium-high, heat oil to 350°F While oil heats, in a medium bowl, whisk together dry ingredients.
  • Reserving the marinade, remove the chicken to a plate. Whisk the egg into the marinade. Dip the chicken into the egg mixture, one piece at a time, shaking off excess egg mixture. Dredge chicken piece in flour mix, making sure to coat evenly on both sides. Repeat the breading process (egg mixture to flour mix) one more time, set chicken aside. Line a baking sheet with paper towels.

  • Brush toasted buns with butter, place two pickle slices on each bun and top with chicken.

Tastes Like Chick-Fil-A Chicken Salad Sandwich image

I love Chick-Fil-A!!! I found this recipe clone online after many hours of searching countless boards and forums... I think this recipe is pretty close in taste to their famous salad... I have made some modifications to fit our tastes... hope you will enjoy this as much as we do. This really helps my craving because it is so easy to prepare and much cheaper!!! It is also very tasty and pretty served in a lettuce cup with some crackers.

Time 30m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 large cooked chicken breasts (about 2 cups)
1/3 cup diced celery (about 2 stalks)
1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1/3 cup sweet pickle relish
1/2-2/3 cup mayonnaise (depends on how "wet" you like your salad)
toasted bread (whole wheat or thick texas toast are really good)

Steps:

  • Pull apart the chicken into large chunks and either cut it into a small dice or process in a mini food processor.
  • Place chicken in a large mixing bowl and add all remaining ingredients (except bread).
  • Mix well.
  • Toast your bread of choice and place salad in between toasted bread and serve.
  • I also like to serve it in a lettuce cup with crackers for a little variety.
