This nutty and fruity broccoli salad is a big hit at potlucks! The recipe was given to me by my Aunt Rossanne. She is the best cook ever! To bulk up the salad, you can add an extra cup of broccoli.

1 pound bacon
4 cups broccoli florets
5 green onions, chopped
¼ cup sunflower seeds
¼ cup golden raisins
1 cup mayonnaise
½ cup white sugar
6 tablespoons red wine vinegar

Steps:

  • Place bacon in a large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly browned. Cool, crumble, and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, toss together broccoli, green onions, sunflower seeds, raisins, and bacon.
  • In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sugar, and red wine vinegar. Toss with vegetables to coat. Cover, and chill until serving.

Fresh broccoli and an almost cole slaw style dressing make this tangy broccoli salad a fun addition to your next potluck or dinner. Sweet, tangy and fresh!

7 cups fresh broccoli florets (washed, stems removed and chopped into bite size pieces)
2/3 cup finely diced red onion
1 cup raisins
8 slices bacon (cooked and crumbled)
2/3 cup mayonnaise
6 tablespoons cider vinegar
2/3 cup granulated sugar

Steps:

  • Add the broccoli, onion, raisins and bacon to a large bowl.
  • In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, vinegar and sugar with a whisk or a fork until no lumps remain.
  • Pour over the vegetables and toss.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate and serve cold.

2 heads broccoli, cut into florets
½ cup chopped red onion
½ cup raisins
1 cup mayonnaise
½ cup white sugar
½ cup distilled white vinegar
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Place the bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain the bacon slices on a paper towel-lined plate; crumble bacon.

6 slices bacon
20 ounces fresh cheese-filled tortellini
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup white sugar
2 teaspoons cider vinegar
3 heads fresh broccoli, cut into florets
1 cup raisins
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 red onion, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook tortellini in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente. Drain, and rinse under cold water.
  • In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar to make the dressing.
  • In a large bowl, combine broccoli, tortellini, bacon, raisins, sunflower seeds and red onion. Pour dressing over salad, and toss.

1/2 cup Miracle Whip light or 1/2 cup light mayonnaise
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons vinegar
6 cups broccoli florets, chopped small
4 cups loosely packed fresh spinach leaves
1/2 lb bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup red onion, cut into strips
1/4 cup raisins
1 egg, hard boiled and chopped

Steps:

  • Mix dressing, sugar and vinegar in large bowl.
  • Add remainig ingredients and mix lightly.
  • Refrigerate.
