1/4 cup refrigerated taco sauce with seasoned ground beef (from 18-oz container)
1 bag (1 oz) nacho-flavored tortilla chips
2 tablespoons finely shredded Mexican cheese blend
2 tablespoons shredded lettuce

Steps:

  • In small microwavable bowl, microwave ground beef on High 30 seconds or until thoroughly heated. Squeeze bag of chips to crush slightly.
  • Cut bag of chips open along top; hold open. Top chips with warm ground beef; mix with fork. Top with cheese, lettuce and if desired, other taco toppings. Eat directly from bag.

2 cups taco meat (or chili (1/2 cup per person))
1/2 lettuce
1 tomato (or equivalent amount of salsa)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheese
1/2 cup guacamole
4 individual bags chips (for nachos)

Steps:

  • Heat up the nacho meat or chili. Let cool slightly, remembering that it will be held in people's hands.
  • Prepare and lay out the toppings. Slice the lettuce and dice the tomato. Place the salsa, sour cream, cheese, guacamole, and similar in bowls. Then line up in the order that they would be added to the tacos.
  • Issue each guest with their bag of chips, then let themselves serve down the line of taco toppings!

I love Taco in a Bag! I had this recipe at the Covered Bridge Festival in Indiana. My family loves them too! The chip bag serves as a shell for the tacos.

1 pound lean ground beef
1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
4 (2.5 ounce) packages corn chips
2 cups shredded lettuce
1 chopped fresh tomato
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
⅓ cup salsa
½ cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Place ground beef in a large skillet. Cook and stir over medium heat until browned. Drain excess oil. Mix in the taco seasoning and prepare according to the directions on the package.
  • With the bags unopened, gently crush the corn chips. Snip the corners off the bags using scissors and slit open the bags along the side edge. Spoon equal amounts of the beef mixture, lettuce, tomato, Cheddar cheese, salsa and sour cream into the bags on top of the crushed chips. Serve in the bag and eat using a fork.

2 cups lettuce, chopped
2 tablespoons onions, finely diced
2 tomatoes, chopped
2 cups shredded cheese
1 (16 ounce) bottle Pace Picante Sauce
6 (4 ounce) bags taco chips (like Doritos)

Steps:

  • Brown the hamburger with the southwestern seasoning; drain.
  • Open the chips bags.
  • Add into each bag:.
