Only fresh green beans and garlic will do for this easy, healthy, and flavorful side dish.

Steps:
- Place green beans into a large skillet and cover with water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until beans start to soften, about 5 minutes. Drain water. Add butter to green beans; cook and stir until butter is melted, 2 to 3 minutes.
- Cook and stir garlic with green beans until garlic is tender and fragrant, 3 to 4 minutes. Season with lemon pepper and salt.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray a 1-1/2 qt baking dish with a nonstick cooking spray.
- Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions, red pepper, and garlic.
- Cook until onions are tender and start to brown, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat.
- Add remaining ingredients, dissolving cornstarch in the 2 Tbsp of water before adding.
- Mix well.
- Transfer to prepared baking dish.
- Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour.

- In a small saucepan, combine beans with remaining liquid, brown sugar and butter; mix well.
