Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, cubed
2 tubes (12 ounces each) refrigerated flaky buttermilk biscuits
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
8 ounces cream cheese, cut into 20 cubes
1-1/2 cups chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat brown sugar and butter on high for 1 minute or until sugar is dissolved; set aside. , Flatten each biscuit into a 3-in. circle. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon in the center of each biscuit. Top with a cream cheese cube. Fold dough over filling; pinch edges to seal tightly., Sprinkle 1/2 cup walnuts into a greased 10-in. fluted tube pan. Layer with half of the biscuits, cinnamon-sugar and butter mixture and 1/2 cup walnuts. Repeat layers., Bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately invert onto a serving platter. Serve warm. Refrigerate leftovers.

2 packages (1/4 ounce each) active dry yeast
2 cups warm 2% milk (110° to 115°)
1 can (16 ounces) spicy fat-free refried beans
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 teaspoons salt
5 to 6 cups all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add the beans, sugar, butter, salt and 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a firm dough., Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a bowl coated with cooking spray, turning once to coat the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour., Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide in half. Shape into loaves. Place in two 9x5-in. loaf pans coated with cooking spray. A friend of mine gave this to me. I tweaked it a little and it turned out fabulous. This can be made the night before. Can also use a different type of pan than a bundt pan. Just remember to invert it onto a plate as soon as it comes out.

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 (10 ounce) cans refrigerated biscuits, separated and cut in half
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, removed from package and cut into 3 strips lengthwise
2 cups sugar
4 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In bowl combine sugar and cinnamon and mix well.
  • Take one of the half biscuits and knead it into a circle.
  • Slice each cream cheese strip. Will need 60 slices total.
  • Dip a cream cheese slice into sugar mixture. Make sure it's completely covered.
  • Place into center of biscuit circle.
  • Roll up biscuit around cream cheese and pinch together.
  • Roll in sugar mixture till cover.
  • Place seam side up in bundt pan.
  • Repeat until all the biscuits are used up.
  • In microwave safe bowl melt butter. Add remaining sugar mixture and mix well. Pour evenly over biscuits.
  • Bake 35 minutes.

This bread was given to me by my best friend, Sharon, that is no longer with us. Everytime I fix this she is with me. Everyone just loves this bread and you can add anything you like.

1 loaf frozen bread dough, completely thawed
1/2 lb ground sausage, browned and drained
1/2 lb ground beef, browned and drained
12 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 onion, chopped
1 -2 jalapeno pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Let bread thaw and rise according to package.
  • If in a hurry, just let thaw.
  • Preheat oven 375 degrees.
  • Brown and drain meat, onions and seasonings.
  • Roll 1/2 dough out on a floured surface.
  • Spoon meat mixture down the middle.
  • Top with cheese and jalepeno peppers.
  • Roll in a loaf.
  • Repeat with other half of bread dough.
  • Place in bread pan and bake for 25 or 30 minutes or until bread is brown.

1 Tbsp approximately, vegetable shortening
2 Tbsp approximately, corn flake crumbs (sold with the breadcrumbs)
1 medium orange
1/4 c orange juice
3/4 c granulated sugar
1/2 c unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
1 large egg
1/4 c milk
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 c all-purpose flour
1/2 c golden raisins

Steps:

  • 1. 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease a 9x5 loaf pan with shortening. Dust to coat with corn flake crumbs. Set aside
  • 2. Cut off a sliver of the rind at the nub and the blossom end of the orange. Cut the orange into 8 pieces, removing any seeds. Place in a food processor fitted with the steel blade. Add the orange juice and pulse until the orange is finely chopped.
  • 3. In a mixing bowl, cream the sugar and butter.
  • 4. Beat in the orange puree, egg, milk, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  • 5. Stir in the flour.
  • 6. Fold in the raisins.
  • 7. Scoop the batter by the spoonful into the prepared pan. Use the back of the spoon to level the batter.
  • 8. Bake for 1 hour or until baked through.
  • 9. Cool in the pan until the sides shrink away. Remove to a wire rack and continue cooling to room temperature.
  • 10. Serve slices just as they are or with a smear of cream cheese or butter.

1 package active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110 degrees F.)
1/2 cup (1/4 pound) butter or margarine
1/2 cup half-and-half (light cream) or milk
3 tablespoons sugar (omit if using savory filling)
3 eggs
4 to 4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
Sweet or savory filling (recipe follow)
1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water

Steps:

  • Mix the yeast with the warm water and let set for five minutes, heat the butter and the milk and let cool, add to the yeast, add the sugar and salt, beat in the eggs and nutmeg, mix to combine thoroughly. Add the flour until you can not stir with a spoon or mixer. Turn the dough out onto a board and knead in the rest of the flour. Continue kneading for 10 minutes. Place the dough in a greased bowl and set aside in a warm place to rise until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours. Punch down and knead a few times. Wrap airtight and place in refrigerator. The dough needs to be cold in order to roll and form, so refrigerate it overnight. Fillings: Sweet cheese filling: Beat together 2 large packages (8 ounces) cream cheese, at room temperature; 1/2 cup powered sugar; 1 egg; 2 teaspoons grated orange peel; and 1/4 teaspoon almond extract. Stir in 1 cup raisins and 1 cup chopped candied orange peel. Savory cheese filling: Beat together 1 large packages (8 ounce) cream cheese, at room temperature; 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled; 1 egg; and 1 cup finely chopped green onion. If the filling is not going to be used the day it is made, cover and refrigerated overnight. When you are ready to form the bundles, knead the dough a few times to get the air out. Divide dough into 16 equal pieces, keep the remaining pieces cold while you roll one portion at a time into a 6"to 6 1/2"-inch circle. Place equal portions (2 to 2 1/2 tablespoons) of filling in center. Draw dough up around filling, and pleat; pinch firmly just above filling, letting dough top flare loosely. As you finish each bundle, place 2 inches apart on greased 10 by 15-inch baking sheet. Cover bundles loosely with plastic wrap and place in warm place to rise until puffy, about 30 minutes. 1 recipe Basic Bread Dough for Stuffed Bread (see above recipe)
1 2-pound link fully-cooked garlic veal sausage
1 egg, lightly beaten with 1 teaspoon water, for egg wash

Steps:

  • Grease a baking sheet. On a lightly-floured work surface, punch down bread dough and roll into a 5 by 12-inch rectangle. Place sausage in center of dough and fold bread dough around sausage to completely enclose, squeezing out any air pockets. Brush edges with egg wash before folding and sealing. Transfer to baking sheet, seam-side down, and let rise until doubled, about 40 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Using a razor or serrated knife, cut a shallow slit in center of dough, lengthwise, and brush with egg wash. Bake bread until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Let bread cool in pan on a rack 20 minutes, then turn out and let cool. Serve warm or at room temperature.

1-1/8 cup(s) lukewarm milk (105º-110º)
2 tablespoon(s) butter, softened
3 cup(s) white bread flour
2 to 3 teaspoon(s) granulated sugar
1-1/2 teaspoon(s) sea salt
1 cup(s) chopped dried fruit mix
1 package(s) active dry yeast (2 tsp)

Steps:

  • NOTE: PLACE INGREDIENTS IN BREAD PAN IN EXACT ORDER LISTED ABOVE 1. You can make your own dried fruit mix if desired. 2. If you don't have a thermometer, test the milk on the inside of your wrist. It should be lukewarm (about the same temp as a baby's formula)
  • Gently pour the warm milk into the bread pan. Cut the butter into 4 pieces and add to the milk.
  • Place flour, satt and dried fruit mix in a mixing bowl, and stir with wooden spoon to coat the fruit mix.
  • Carefully pour the flour mixture into the bread pan, taking care to completely cover the liquid.
  • Make a small depression in flour mixture and add yeast into the depression.
  • Bake on basic, with medium crust. Note: If you use 3 teaspoons of sugar, set the crust to light as the added sugar will result in a crisper crust.

I love breads that can serve as breakfast or snack or dessert. I call this a discovery recipe! I went browsing through my pantry and found a few items I had on hand that I thought would marry well and make something delicious. My family loved it! No I mean LOVED it!!! Hope yours does too!

- 1 cup self rising flour
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 box of duncan hines decadent classic carrot cake mix
- 3 eggs
- one 30 oz can pumpkin pie filling
- 1 and 1/2 cups coarsley chopped pecans
- one 14 oz bag of dry flaked coconut
- 1 jar of orange marmalade
- 2 loaf pans heavily sprayed with butter flavored cooking spray

Steps:

  • open cake box and remove the pouch of dehydrated carrots and raisins and follow the box instructions to re-hydrate and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients. Then add the eggs and pumpkin pie filling. Blend all together with mixer until well incorporated.
  • Next mix in the pouch ingredients including the water. Then stir in the pecans and coconut folding in well. Pour batter into prepared loaf pans and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until knife inserted comes out clean.
  • After removing from the oven, while still very warm, spread Orange marmalade over the tops to your taste. Personally, I love orange marmalade, so I spread a thick layer over mine. It makes a wonderful glaze, but you can leave them not glazed if you prefer. Or if orange is not your thing, pineapple preserves or peach would pair well with this bread.
