2 tablespoons butter, melted, divided
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup chopped onion
Sliced pimientos, optional

Steps:

  • Brush the bottom and sides of a 13x9-in. baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter; set aside. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, seasonings, eggs, milk and remaining butter. Stir in the spinach, cheeses and onion. Spread in prepared pan. , Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and edges are lightly browned. Cut into squares. Garnish with pimientos if desired.

This recipe is a favorite at every Christmas party. Note: This recipe freezes well. To serve, defrost and reheat at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 12 to 15 minutes.

2 tablespoons butter
3 eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pound shredded Cheddar cheese
2 (10 ounce) packages frozen chopped spinach
1 tablespoon minced onion

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Place butter or margarine in a 9x13 inch baking dish and melt butter in oven. Remove when melted, approximately 3 minutes.
  • In large mixing bowl, beat eggs well. Mix in flour, milk and baking powder. When the dough is well combined, mix in cheese, spinach, and onion. Spoon mixture into the baking dish with melted butter.
  • Bake for 35 minutes. Let cool 45 minutes then cut into bite-size squares.

Ready in just 45 minutes, our spinach cheese squares are welcome additions to Sunday brunch or holiday potlucks.

2 tablespoons butter, melted
3 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (16 oz)
2 packages (10 oz each) frozen chopped spinach, thawed, squeezed to drain
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Place melted butter in 13 x 9-inch baking dish; set aside.
  • In large bowl, beat eggs, stir in milk. Stir in flour and baking powder until well blended. Stir in cheese, spinach and onion. Spoon egg mixture into baking dish.
  • Bake 35 minutes or until center is set. Cool 30 minutes; cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Serve immediately.

1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
2 cups dry bread stuffing mix
3 eggs, beaten
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ onion, chopped
2 tablespoons melted butter
¼ cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix together chopped spinach, dry bread stuffing mix, eggs, Parmesan cheese, onion, butter and Cheddar cheese. Cover and chill in the refrigerator approximately 30 minutes.
  • Drop the mixture by rounded spoonfuls onto a lightly greased large baking sheet. Place baking sheet in the freezer approximately 1 hour.
  • When ready to bake, allow the balls to partially thaw, about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a large baking sheet.
  • Bake the balls in the preheated oven 20 to 25 minutes, or until lightly browned.

3 (10 ounce) packages frozen chopped spinach
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
3 cups chopped cooked ham
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
2 1/4 ounces hollandaise sauce mix
4 hard-cooked eggs, chopped

Steps:

  • Cook frozen spinach according to package directions; drain well. Cook chopped onion in butter or margarine till onion is tender but not brown.
  • Combine beaten eggs and milk. Add bread crumbs, ham, cooked onion, spinach, and seasoning salt; mix well. Spread evenly in a 12 by 7 1/2 by 2" baking dish.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 350°F till set. 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, prepare hollandaise sauce mix according to package directions; stir in chopped hard-cooked eggs.
  • To serve, cut casserole into squares; spoon sauce over each serving.

1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
4 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Steps:

  • Pour butter into a 13x9-in. baking dish; tilt to coat. In a small bowl, combine the flour, salt and baking powder. Whisk eggs and milk; stir into dry ingredients just until blended. Fold in spinach and cheese. Pour into prepared dish., Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes; cut into small squares. Serve immediately or transfer to a freezer container. May be frozen for up to 3 months., To use frozen appetizers: Thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Place on baking sheet.
