Yield Makes 6 1/4 cups

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 cups water
6 hibiscus tea bags
2 pounds strawberries, hulled and halved
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from about 3 lemons)
1/4 cup Simple Syrup for Lemonade and Tangerineade

Steps:

  • Bring water to a simmer in a small saucepan. Remove from heat, add tea bags, and steep for 30 minutes. Discard tea bags, and pour tea into a pitcher. Let cool completely.
  • Combine strawberries and sugar in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water. Heat until strawberries release their juices, about 25 minutes. Strain through a sieve into the pitcher. (Stir gently, but do not press strawberries or juice will become cloudy.)

SPICED STRAWBERRY LEMONADE TEA

Spiced Strawberry Lemonade Tea image

I just made this up today...so far it seems to be either a love it or hate it proposition. Out of 8 of us, 5 think its good, 3 say ehhh, its ok..but its kind of tangy, very refreshing and not too sweet, though easy to sweeten up if you wanted it sweeter. Cooking time is steeping time

Time 35m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

5 bags constant comment tea
1 quart water
1 cup sweetened strawberry-lemonade drink mix (I used Smuckers Brand)

Steps:

  • Bring tea bags and water to a boil; let steep at least 30 minutes.
  • Pour still hot tea into a half gallon pitcher; add the drink mix.
  • Stir until drink mix is dissolved.
  • Fill pitcher up the rest of the way with cold water; enjoy.
  • I would say if you like it sweeter, you would be better off adding a bit of sugar to the mixture as opposed to more lemonade or it will begin to taste simply like the lemonade and you would lose the spiced tea flavor.
