SPAM SANDWICH SALAD

Spam Sandwich Salad image

Spam gets a bad rap. We find that some people are afraid to taste it, but when they do they actually like it. Spam is extremely popular in Hawaii and Stacey's salad recipe is a great way to try it. The carrots give a hint of sweetness that counteracts the salty flavor of Spam. Dill relish adds a bit of tanginess. We tried it on...

SPAM MACARONI SALAD

Spam Macaroni Salad image

A friend of mine served her macaroni salad to me one night at a dinner party. I loved the taste. One day I made the salad and another friend took a bite and said, "This would taste magnificent if you added Spam to it. So I added Spam and now it's a hit when I take it to parties or serve it to my lunch quests.

SPAM AND EGG SALAD/ SPREAD

Spam and Egg Salad/ Spread image

My roommate when I was a teenager used to make this. It is a delicious salad/spread that we used to put on toast and brown under the broiler. It tastes just as good served cold as a side dish. This recipe allows for many variations on ingredients (such as ham or sausage for the Spam) and would also make a great low carb meal. Prep time does not include hard boiling and peeling the eggs.

Time 15m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 -8 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, cut into small cubes

2 tablespoons yellow mustard (more or less to taste)
1/4 cup onion, minced (I omit this)
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Brown the cubed Spam lightly in a nonstick frying pan and set aside. Mix all other ingredients together. Mix in the Spam and season to taste. Chill. Serve as a side dish or top assorted crackers with it. It is also very good spread on top of toast and placed under the broiler until bubbly and the cheese starts to brown.

SPAM TURKEY SALAD SPREAD

SPAM TURKEY SALAD SPREAD image

Categories     turkey     No-Cook     Quick & Easy

Number Of Ingredients 10

5 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons malt vinegar
1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
1/4 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 can (12-oz.) SPAM Oven Roasted Turkey, grated

Steps:

  • Stir the first 9 ingredients together in a small bowl. Using the largest holes (6mm) of a 4-sided box grater, grate the turkey into a larger bowl. Pour dressing mixture over grated turkey and thoroughly combine using spatula or spoon. Cover and chill overnight or at least 3 hours before serving. Suggestion: Add minced onion or celery, if desired. Note: I use a box grater because of the simplicity and ease of clean up. It results in a smooth spread when combined with the dressing. When there are remaining turkey chunks too small to grate, I simply mince with a knife and add to the grated turkey.

SPAM™-A-LICIOUS NOT-SO-CAESAR SALAD

Spam™-a-licious Not-So-Caesar Salad image

My partner and I invented this recipe by accident one afternoon, when we thought there was 'no food left'! Don't underestimate the Spam™ - although it's average uncooked, when cooked it is almost undistinguishable from crispy bacon. Give it a try!

½ head red leaf lettuce, rinsed and torn
1 cup baby spinach leaves
2 eggs
½ cup crumbled feta cheese
1 tablespoon finely grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon finely chopped salted peanuts
4 tablespoons chopped dill
8 anchovy fillets
